Lindsay Skipper, Owner & Strolling Violinist

Thanks to my musical parents, I learned to play the violin and grew up in the thriving music community of Raleigh, NC. I got to tour with youth and college orchestras in the the U.K., Austria and the Czech Republic and recently played at Cincinnati’s Music Hall where I’ve been living since 2013.

I started Elegant Violin in 2010 after experiencing first-hand how hard it was to plan my wedding while working a full-time job. I knew I could provide easy, fast communication and compassionate service that would make couples’ lives easier while preparing for their big day.

Beyond managing the Elegant Violin business and homeschooling my kids, I perform at select events in the Tri-State area (Cincinnati) and the Triangle (Raleigh). Check out my recent performances.

Polly

The first associate who joined the EV team, Polly graduated with a degree in Music Performance where she led her university’s Philharmonic Orchestra as Concertmaster. She’s toured in Ireland, Hungary, Romania, and the Netherland. Fun fact: Polly and her husband are avid backpackers and busy with two young daughters! Watch her play live at real weddings.

Muning

Originally from Beijing, Muning grew up in a musical family. She is completing her doctorate studies in music. In additional to violin, she plays viola, piano and also studies conducting. She’s performed with orchestras in Australia, Austria, and Ireland. Fun fact: Muning teaches private lessons is a pet lover! See more of her playing here.

Yuanchun

A passionate teacher and performer, Yuanchun has earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music and is completing her doctorate in Violin Performance. She performs with quartets, chamber groups, and orchestras throughout the Tri-State. Fun fact: Yuanchun is a proud dog owner and has a cat named “Dog”! Listen to her play at recent weddings.

Jingting

Starting at age five, Jingting was making music on the piano and violin. She studied violin in Arizona and is now based in Cincinnati where she is finishing her Doctorate of Music. She travels throughout the Tri-State teaching young violinists. Check out her amazing tone and musicality. Fun fact: Jingting is a cat lover and loves ice cream!

Ashley

Raised by professional musicians in North Carolina, Ashley is an accomplished classical and bluegrass violinist based in Wake Forest, NC. She’s performed in prestigious competitions and concerts from New York to Washington, D.C and has even played with Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli. Throughout the year she can be seen in the North Carolina Opera, Ballet, and Symphony. Fun fact: Ashley is a mom to four kids that she homeschools and also runs a private violin studio!

Angela

With a Bachelors and Masters degree in Violin Performance, Angela spent most of her career on the West Coast. Besides teaching violin at the collegiate level and privately, she has performed with stars like Kanye West, Josh Groban, and Michael Bublé. Since moving to Apex, NC, she’s brought her talent to the NC Symphony, Ballet, and Opera. Fun fact: Angela has played at The Academy Awards, Grammys, The Tonight Show, The Ellen Degeneres Show, and more!

Craig

A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Craig is not only an accomplished violinist but also an active composer, pianist, vocalist, and music educator. At age five he began to learn music and by ten was writing original pieces. In recent years he’s received grants and commissions for local musical groups and professional recordings. Fun fact: Craig is a competitive open water swimmer and enjoyed backpacking around the U.S. with his family and friends.
